Office Work Environment
It's a very nice office space that has many good meeting rooms, kitchens, recreation spaces, thinking spaces, reflection rooms where you can pray or meditate, a nice view and a variety of bins including compost. The desk spaces are nice and have sit/stand desks and comfortable chairs. It's a 'hot desking' situation though, so although I have been able to get a regular spot consistently, not everyone will.

Training
There were excellent learning and development sessions that were focused on positive psychology. It also involved considering values, how we wanted to work, what we wanted from work and what we'd like to see in our broader careers. Great stuff about how to best optimise ourselves for ourselves, not just for our productivity. Lots of great opportunities for First Nations engagement and cultural awareness training. Constant opportunities for broader work health and safety skills, working in government skills and general policy development.

Flex time means you can leave work early and make it up the next day. It also means you can take an afternoon off if you've accumulated enough flex. Working 7 hours 21 mins per day is very achievable.

I can't even scratch the full extent of the ACTPS' green initiatives in this answer, but they do a lot. They got the ACT to 100% renewable energy in 2020 and are working on net zero emissions by 2045. They do a lot of conservation and environmental protection work, and I'm involved in their living infrastructure work about greening the city for climate change adaptation and mitigation and biodiversity conservation.
