This is your opportunity to join a dynamic, people-focused organisation that offers a great lifestyle and opportunities you won't find anywhere else, all whilst having your remaining study sponsored, earning a salary as you complete your degree and having a guaranteed job following graduation.

Your role

As a radiographer in the Air Force, your duties will be similar to those practiced in the civilian community in that you will provide medical imagery services. The key difference is that you will perform your role with an operational focus, and the environments you'll work in may vary significantly.

Whilst you'll be based primarily at one of the two Air Force Expeditionary Health Squadrons at RAAF Bases Amberley or Williamtown, you may also be required to support the Navy's health capability and participate in tri-service and multi-national operational and peacekeeping deployments.

This means you could be providing medical imagery services within fully established hospitals or fully equipped field facilities during major ADF exercises and deployments. However, it's these types of military experiences that will increase your knowledge and grow your skills within your chosen medical profession.

On top of this, as an Air Force Officer you'll be trained to become an inspirational leader and mentor; adept at effectively communicating with and managing teams, with a comprehensive knowledge of Air Force attitudes, values and military protocols and procedures.

Salary:

This is your opportunity to be paid a competitive salary as you study at the university of your choice. Not to mention, you'll receive other benefits like rental allowance, textbook reimbursement and assistance with your HELP fees.
Upon commencing the program, your salary will be between $34,633 - $53,104 plus 16.4% superannuation depending on the completion status of your course.
On completion of your degree and initial training, you could earn $80,955 per annum plus 16.4% superannuation.

Location

Upon completion of your training in East Sale, VIC, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia such as RAAF Base Amberley or RAAF Base Williamtown.

Life in the Air Force

When you join the Air Force, you'll benefit from our investment in your professional growth and development, enjoy great work/life balance, a supportive team environment and extensive benefits – from free healthcare to excellent fitness facilities. Plus, there's the potential for overseas travel.

In addition, there are the meaningful experiences that come with serving your country. From participating in Air Force exercises and operations to providing support to communities in need, this is your opportunity to take on a career with many rewarding dimensions.
