About the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS)

ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and promote Australia’s vital interests through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to national security, international relations, and economic issues.

Your role

Offering a rare chance to work within the Australian Secret Intelligence Service, ACTIVATE gives graduates on-the-job experience and training in one of the most unique, dynamic, and fast-paced workplaces in Australia. Throughout the 12-month program, you'll learn how intelligence is gathered, reported, and actioned.

The technical reach and partnerships of the organization are vast, diverse, and continuously evolving. This dynamic environment necessitates diverse perspectives, strong teamwork, and unconventional solutions to overcome technical challenges. The technical workforce is driven by passion and commitment to their work.

Graduates in the technologist stream embark on multiple rotations within the organization. These rotations expose them to a variety of technical activities, purposefully build their understanding of the corporate culture, and further develop their skills and technological competencies. They collaborate with both operational technology and enterprise teams to innovate and develop new solutions for complex problems, ultimately supporting the foreign intelligence collection mission. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Program, graduates are placed in a technical team that aligns with their skills and interests.
