About the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS)

ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and promote Australia’s vital interests through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to national security, international relations, and economic issues.

Your role

ASIS provides graduates with tailored on-the-job experiences, training, and support in one of the most unique, dynamic, and fast-paced workplaces in Australia. Over the course of a 12-month program, you will learn how Intelligence is gathered, reported, and actioned and how your expertise and commitment are critical to its ongoing evolution and success.

The technical reach and partnerships of the organization are vast, diverse, and continuously evolving. This dynamic environment necessitates diverse perspectives, strong teamwork, and unconventional solutions to overcome technical challenges. The technical workforce is driven by passion and commitment to their work.

As a graduate in the technologist stream, you’ll undertake multiple workplace rotations that expose you to a range of technical activities; that purposefully build your corporate cultural knowledge; and that develop and extend your skills and tech competencies. You’ll work with both operational technology and enterprise teams to innovate and develop new solutions to complex problems that enable the foreign intelligence collection mission.
