Your role

BMW's IT Team have an exciting opportunity for an IT Operations Intern to provide support with budget management, governance and infrastructure project management topics.  Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will also support the maintenance of IT systems, software assets and IT risk controls. 

This is a 12-month full-time role based at the Mulgrave office in the south-eastern suburbs.

The focus of this position will be to:

  • Maintain end-user hardware including but not limited to, laptops, desktops, printers, multifunction devices, mobile devices etc.
  • Gain knowledge in software asset management processes and guidelines and maintain software compliance.
  • Gain knowledge in financial service processes through exposure to the full customer lifecycle starting with the in-dealership processes and leading on to the activities and processes of various internal departments.
  • Work with businesses, product owners and agile masters to document the requirements for infrastructure-related projects.
  • Understand guidelines and policies in line with applicable legislative and operational requirements.
  • Support delivery of innovative and customer-focused solutions to the business.

Training & development

About you

Ideally, they are looking for a final-year student on a gap year or a recent graduate with a tertiary qualification in Information Technology. In addition:

  • An aptitude for IT Operations and a working knowledge of Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile.
  • Familiarity with, and ideally some experience with the following terms:  Vendor management,  Risk and audits, Project management.
  • A passion for customer focus by understanding customer needs.
  • Proactive nature, able to take initiative and accountability for your work.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Resilient, with a strong drive to achieve set goals.
  • Constant innovation and creativity to drive new ideas.
  • Ability to identify trends, draw useful conclusions and recommend solutions.
