Pros & Cons

  • The best thing about working at Reece is the culture, everywhere you go, you are made to feel welcome. Whether its branches or the head office, everyone is extremely nice and welcoming and there is always some good banter occurring.
  • The team culture is the best part, as well with the prompt opportunities that keep continuously arriving with the view of developing into a leader has been better than I could've imagined.
  • The people and the culture
  • Workplace culture is great! Everyone is really friendly and willing to help each other out. Lots of opportunities for growth and if you express interest in a particular area, the company helps to accommodate that
  • The commitment to career growth and learning opportunities across the business. The timtams are also a pretty nice touch.
  • Currently I think that 1 year of branch time is a bit excessive, I think 6 months of branch time is all that is needed to fully grasp what it's like working within the branches and supporting/serving customers
  • Nothing at all, the closest I can think of is probably dealing with a couple angry customers.
  • So many different business units, initiatives, and a big network of sub-domains within the company. Can be difficult to wrap your head around all of these things and how they work together and why they all exist.
  • Nothing bad yet
  • The pressure and the negativity

Within work hours there is a lot of banter that happens, everybody is joking around with each other and makes the job more fun and enjoyable. There is a clear structure and hierarchy within Reece that everyone respects and there is a lot of teamwork and collaboration going on. In after hours most people still communicate with each other and hang out outside of working hours.

Managers and mentors are really focused on my growth. They are dedicated to weekly one-on-ones, and make me feel safe to be honest during these. They look to challenge me and are super encouraging throughout the process. They give me honest feedback and celebrate my achievements (even more than I do).

Office Work Environment
I work at a multi-site so the facility here is huge and very good, Reece standards are to create the right impression which means keeping the branches neat and tidy and comfortable for customers and staff. In terms of dress code, the dress code is professional which also links back to creating the right impression.

Recruitment

Recruitment
Had an extremely fluid and enjoyable recruitment process. Lots of contact between the recruitment manager and myself. Really set the tone for what working for Reece was going to be like. A nice level of personal questions, hobbies, what I do in my free time while also mixing in some more "professional" questions. Mainly centred around work ethic and what I wanted my career to look like. The main tips I would have for candidates applying for Reece is to be yourself. Reece is a company that is big on culture and values, and if your personal culture and values align with those of the companies I feel like you have a decent chance of being successful in the interview process.

Salary
Very fair compensation, opportunities for profit share after a certain tenure. Reece has a partnership with smart spending app which gives employees access to discounts from a variety of different brands and companies. I believe Reece also might have a health insurance policy and they also offer a counselling service

Training

Training
Within Reece there are many different ways to train and develop your skillset. There are LXPs, which are digital learning courses that are essential for working within a branch, those courses have everything from tips and tricks to legal requirements that you must follow and company standards. Reece also have a 3 day training course for new employees which was extremely helpful.
