Job Description

SRK Consulting is an international independent employee-owned consulting practice, providing integrated consulting services to the resource sector.

The Role

We are looking for a talented, motivated, and enthusiastic Geochemist who has a passion to continue learning and developing their career. SRK will provide an environment that will allow you to innovate and develop your ideas.

You will join a highly respected team of geochemists, and within our Mine Closure Capability, you will be supported by engineers and scientists in the civil, geotechnical, environmental, and hydrogeological areas.

This exciting learning opportunity involves undertaking some or all of the following duties:

  • Contributing to geochemical characterization studies (soil, mine wastes, and ore) which may involve site-based field works Groundwater and surface water sampling
  • Data management and application of statistical tools
  • Using GIS to produce maps and report figures
  • Geochemical modeling to support data interpretation and predict geochemical outcomes
  • Condensing technical data into fit-for-purpose reports and presentations.
  • Supporting the preparation of proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities Interacting with SRK clients.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science or related discipline
  • Fieldwork experience
  • Experience with laboratory procedures, and processing and interpreting laboratory data
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Language fluency in English including the ability to contribute to high-quality technical reports.
  • Australian Resident or existing Working Visa preferred
  • Willingness to travel (including remote locations

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Fieldwork/mine site experience (e.g. geological logging, sampling of soils, water, rock)
  • Design and implementation of site investigations/sampling programs
  • Undertaking or planning of laboratory analysis programs
  • Assessment and reporting of geochemical data Use of ArcGIS Geological 3D modeling software (e.g. Leapfrog, Vulcan) Geochemical modeling (e.g. PHREEQC, Geochemists Workbench)
  • Knowledge of the environment and mine closure practices

The role will involve undertaking materials characterization assessments and the preparation of mine closure costing estimates, This position will ideally be based in our Perth Office.

This exciting learning opportunity may see you undertaking any one of the following duties:
