ANSTO aims to nurture the next generation of Australian graduates and provide strong foundations for exciting and fulfilling careers. ANSTO Graduate Development Program is a reputable leadership program focused on providing professional development opportunities and hands-on experience.

Features of our 2023 Graduate Development Program include:  

  • A 2-year rotation program
  • A permanent employment opportunity at ANSTO on successful completion of the program
  • A significant investment in professional development and access to support networks
  • The opportunity to be mentored by some of Australia’s brightest minds and senior leaders

Internship Opportunities

Internships at ANSTO offer the opportunity to apply theory and practice, in your chosen field, to enhance the value of your remaining study. Students bring fresh ideas and the latest in theory and practice to the workplace, challenge and sometimes improve processes and contribute in a meaningful way to the projects and activities. 

Scholarships

Each year, ANSTO and the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) offer scholarship opportunities to the best and brightest emerging scientific minds.

Recruitment Process

ANSTO employees are passionate about what they do. We enjoy being part of an organisation making a difference in the lives of Australians.

ANSTO's Graduate Development Program recruits every 2 years; applications for our 2023 Graduate Development Program open in June 2022. Our recruitment process starts with the online application and concludes with an assessment centre.

As part of the ANSTO online application process, you are required to upload your resume, cover letter, transcript/s and respond to a series of specific questions. This information will be used by the panel to determine your suitability. Shortlisting will commence soon after the closing date for applications however the completion of this may take several weeks, depending on the number of applications received. Only those who demonstrate the strongest claims will be selected for assessment centre. Applicants not selected will be notified by email.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and pre-employment medical assessment. Citizenship requirements must also be met. As a Commonwealth Statutory Authority, ANSTO follows best practice recruitment procedures.
