Please comment on your role and day-to-day responsibilities.
Despite being a graduate performance auditor, I am included in high level meetings about audit strategy and my input is sought for and appreciated. Day-to-day, I seek to understand the issues and government strategies involved with the area of our audit investigation, being mostly independent with my section of the audit.

My day-to-day responsibilities are to analyse the evidence provided by clients and check it against the control testing to see if it meets the requirements laid out in the work program.

I speak to clients to understand how controls are performed and request documentation. I then sample the documentation to ensure it satisfies the control criteria.

I do a lot of testing for different audits. This feels like doing little experiments every day and is very satisfying.
Intern, Brisbane
As an auditor at the Queensland Audit Office, there are opportunities to work across financial audits, performance audits, and information system audits. My main role is to assist with the completion of financial audits by maintaining communication with clients, reviewing documents, and reporting back to my line managers my findings.

As a graduate I am still learning and getting into the role. I look forward to being more knowledgeable and having more responsibility within my teams.

My day-to-day has gotten more interesting with time, working on more and more complex activities. I feel like my brain is stimulated and I'm working on dynamic issues. Sometimes this is broken up by short periods of repetitive easier tasks, but this is more refreshing than boring.
