St Mary's has a proud history in the town of Carnarvon. The school began in 1906 under the leadership of the Presentation Sisters who guided the school until the first lay principal was appointed in 1996. The charism of the Sisters exists in the school to this day, and the heritage and legacy they have left are a source of pride for us. St Mary's is a community school with active parent groups in the Parents and Friends and School Board. Parents are also encouraged to participate in the classes and assist in curriculum areas such as reading, maths, sport, home economics, and outdoor pursuits, to name but a few.

You will be employed by Catholic Education Western Australia under The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Perth Teachers Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2015 (EBA) as amended or replaced from time to time. Remuneration ranges from $70,878 to $110,259 per annum, dependant on full time teaching experience.

Teachers in their beginning years at St Mary Star of the Sea College Carnarvon are eligible for reduction of HELP debt and waiver of indexation. This means that teachers who take up a position at St Mary’s will have their HELP debt partially or completely waived after 4 years of continuous service.
