The Swiss Re Australia Story

Swiss Re Group was founded on December 19, 1863. Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, it has around 14,344 employees and operates through 82 offices in 29 countries (as of December 2021). Australia has always been an integral part of Swiss Re's business in APAC.

Their vision is to make the world more resilient through the knowledge and capital to anticipate the risks: from cybercrime to aging populations, from natural disasters to climate change. Today 75% of those risks remain uninsured. They aim to change that and intend to create new opportunities and solutions for clients.

Swiss Re has several business units: reinsurance (since its founding in the 1800s), life capital (focuses on the primary insurance market), corporate solutions (its commercial insurance arm), and public sector solutions (dedicated to collaborating with public sector entities, governments, and multilateral organizations).
