Culture at WTW

8.0
8.0 rating for Culture, based on 10 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Despite working from home the majority of my time, feel as if I get along very well with colleagues. Encouraging and willing to answer all questions.

Working culture is fantastic, everyone is very approachable regardless of seniority and actively tries to be accommodating with questions and our workloads. There are regular catch-ups to discuss how busy we are and if we need more/less work, team lunches and activities (perhaps less during COVID) and little pressure in taking time off for study and personal reasons. Flexibility to work from home or come in to the office is highly supported by the company.

People I work with have been really good, both in terms of work and more socially. Lockdown has made it hard to get to know people as well as it would going into the office, and with some people working from home majority of the time this is something that may need to have more effort than previous. Hierarchy is quite flat, which has allowed me to work with senior colleagues quite frequently and easily.

The companies culture is very collaborative. Work is often split by client team and have a hierarchy of consultant (often leads the team), reviewers and then doers. This structure for completing work is quite flexible however and often the consultant might complete the work and request the doer to review. In this way client teams are flexible and collaborative. Colleagues are very social with designated team days and catch-ups organised frequently.

The company culture is very inclusive and supportive. I am able to talk to any staff member about problems that arise, and they are always willing to help. My manager is very accommodating of my commitments outside of work. Our team is made up of 3 groups of 2. I work exclusively with a senior broker who I'm able to collaborate with and learn from.

Day-to-day the staff are friendly and sociable but no set office days means it can often be quiet. When social activities are organized for staff, I find that everyone is much more willing to come into the office. There is no feeling of a strict hierarchy like I've felt at other workplaces- everyone talks to everyone.

Closer knit teams and actuaries in more direct contact are great. Somewhat distant and unrealistic upper management.

Not many social events after hours
