The coolest thing about my job is knowing that what I am working on actually impacts the lives of people in NSW. 

I wanted to work for NSW Treasury because I saw that it offered a massively broad range of interesting and relevant work.

My team are responsible for driving youth unemployment policy to assist young jobseekers between 17 to 24 years old.

Most of the challenge in my work lies in understanding the system, what needs to be done, and how best to implement it.

Throughout my time working at Empired I have met many developers with unique backgrounds including engineers, mathematicians and even someone who studied languages at university.

Be perseverant. Don’t get demoralised by all the rejections.

From a working perspective, I found that some of the projects I worked on as a part of the Customer and Marketing Analytics team were truly rewarding.

Lachlan studied a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) at the University of Wollongong and is now a Vulnerability and Signature Management Engineer at the Department of Defence.
