Gender Equality at Pedestrian Group

While Pedestrian Group already focuses on diversity and inclusion, this program is dedicated to supporting underrepresented communities.

Pedestrian Group aspires to achieve gender equality in the workplace by challenging gender stereotypes and championing movements that address the barriers to equality. By creating an inclusive culture and ensuring their people are equally supported throughout their respective careers, Pedestrian Group seeks to create equal opportunity for all employees.

Developing the next generation of female leaders and seeing more women take up leadership positions is important to Pedestrian Group. This is demonstrated by the representation of women in senior leadership positions in the business;

  • 63% of Pedestrian Group’s wider leadership team are women.
  • 80% of the Pedestrian Group commercial leadership team are women.

Pedestrian Group has a number of benefits that helps support new parents, such as 12-weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers, inclusive of all genders, adopters, foster carers and surrogacy.

The work Pedestrian Group produces strives to improve outcomes for all women and non-male identifying people, and raises awareness of key issues that affects both groups. Refinery29 Australia, in particular, sheds light on issues and topics that impact Australian women. Their partnership with Getty Images has created a unique rights-free image library of under-represented bodies and identities. And editorial initiatives have highlighted the plight of the Northern Territory Working Women’s Centres - a service that, despite the growing recognition of sexual harassment in the workplace, is fighting against the clock to secure vital Government funding.
